Things to do in the Lake District
Log cabins Lake District – as we are only situated 45 minutes away from the Lake District the cabins are a perfect base if you would like to explore this beautiful part of the world.
Many guests have said that they don’t want to venture out from the cabin site as it is so peaceful but if you are looking to explore the Lake District is a perfect place to visit.
There are thousands of places to visit and things to do in the Lake District but we have compiled a list of our favourites below.

Lake District Paddle Boarding is Cumbria’s first and only dedicated Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP) provider on the shores of Derwentwater nr Keswick. They also do trips and have a number of events running through the year.
Keswick is a lovely Lakeland town with great shops and restaurants. There is also Derwentwater which is very pleasurable to walk around and you can even hire a rowing boat and feed the ducks, there is a little shop on the water which sells delicious English Lakes Ice Cream, a perfect out from your log cabins Lake District.
The World of Beatrix Potter – Windermere
This is a great attraction to take the kids to. The Beatrix Potter™ experience begins with a 5 minute film introducing you to the author and her stories and illustrations. There are also events that happen in the summer. The doors from the film room open to the main exhibition. The sights and sounds of Beatrix Potter’s characters are magically brought to life.
The Lakes Distillery is Cumbria’s only distillery producing the Lakes Gin, the Lakes Vodka, the ONE. It will become their signature spirit, the Lakes Malt (first bottle due in 2018).
The Lakes Distillery is housed in a beautiful restored farm. The handmade copper stills and an award-winning on-site Bistro.
As one of the ‘best new distilleries in the world’ (Time Out, New York), The Lakes Distillery offers a first class visitors centre with whisky tours & tutored tastings alongside a superb selection of hand-crafted spirits.
