Set in a 230 year old courtyard the Blacksmith’s Cottage is a newly renovated cottage which sits at the top of the Hidden River Site close to the Hidden River House.
The cottage can sleep up to 4 people.
The cottage is furnished to a very high standard similar to the Hidden River House with modern luxurious Facilities.
Upstairs enjoy an open plan living area with a luxurious kitchen with an integrated island oven and cosy wood burner.
Downstairs there are 2 super king bedrooms both with their own bathroom.

The Cottage does not have a hot tub. You have full use of the grounds of the Hidden River Site, including incredible woodland walks, fishing on the river and a short walk to the Hidden River Cafe which provides fantastic food with locally sourced ingredients.
Hidden River Cabins are dog friendly log cabins and accept dogs in all cabins without additional charge.
Enjoy delicious food and tranquil surroundings at our Hidden River Cafe, onsite. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, there’s plenty to enjoy on our menu.
Hidden River Cabins provide an escape from everyday life and a chance to experience nature at first hand, a short break or a week or more of complete relaxation.
There are many things to do in the area such as fishing, walking, visiting the local pub, taking advantage of our onsite café, great shopping nearby, Hadrian’s Wall, Go Ape or renting a rowing boat.
Weddings can take place in our Hidden River Barn. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere around beautiful surroundings and gourmet food for your guests. Perfect for those looking for a more unusual or alternative wedding venue.

For the more adventurous, Whinlater forest park in Keswick hosts the highest Go Ape! There are 4 x 4 off road driving experiences an hour north of the cabins, but if you’re wishing to stay close to home – on your doorstop are breathtaking river walks, romantic picnic spots and areas to fish and gaze at the variety of wildlife.
