  • Eco Friendly

Our cabins are made from UK timber using traditional log cabin methods. They have been built with nature not against it to minimise damage to any of the site around the cabin. Visitors can enjoy the untouched river and woods for years to come.

A combination of Solar power and our fantastic wood burners provide heat for the cabin. The wood burners only use logs sourced as a bi-product of the ongoing management of the surrounding woodland. Therefore, not only can you enjoy carbon footprint free hot water and heating but also you can enjoy the atmosphere and warmth that only a real fire can create.

The woodland has been certified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) where you will discover magical wildlife such as otters, kingfishers, dippers and Roe deer, great for family holidays.

All the waste from the cabins is sorted and recycled, making your lodge holidays hassle free.

Hidden River Cabins is based close to our working organic dairy farm where you can pick up your organic breakfast eggs fresh from our free range chickens!

Dogs are welcome and will love discovering the various wildlife the woods have to offer. Please keep them under control at all times to help preserve the balance of the woodland and river. Dogs are welcome and we only ask they have their own beds and don’t go upstairs.

“Fantastic place to stay.  Watched the heron fishing, saw the fawn deer in the backfield, what a wonderful tranquil relaxing place.  The cabin and jacuzzi are great!  This place is a must for anyone wanting a peaceful relaxing break.  We will recommend to all of our friends and will be back in the future.”

“My daughters and i were brought here by very special friends who have visited before. We were excited and so looking forward to what was painted as “sanctuary”. On arrival we were not disappointed. A 2 hour drive brought us to virtual escapism. The babbling river, the peace, tranquility and the ability to be in another world. The girls have been on an adventure, walked along the river bank, collecting twigs for the fire, rambled over the fields and pathways. Taken back steps without the constant trill of phones or mobiles. Hidden river cabins: wonderful, surroundings: stunning, soul serched, soul found. Will highly recommned. Mr and Mrs Hilton thank you for bringing us to this touch of idealism”
